YouthWorks Program Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field, organizational development, or related field plus 2-5 years experience with a career development or nonprofit program management focus. Substitution for a Bachelor’s Degree may include enrollment in an Institution of Higher Education in a degree program plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid MA driving license and reliable transportation.
  • Some knowledge of area programs and services offered to improve the educational level or employment opportunities, e.g. GED, ESL, Vocational Job Training (Short Term), Literacy, Educational Programs with Institutions of Higher Education, and Professional Development Certificates.
  • Microsoft knowledge and expertise – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Research, and E-Mail.
  • Must have the ability to have a flexible schedule, with some weekends and after-hours required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed, independent thinker while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) and Bi-cultural preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is required.
  • Good interpersonal skills, relates well with people at all levels, and demonstrates good listening skills with the ability to be an effective problem solver.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Implement full year YouthWorks Program, including program recruitment, retention, intake, onboarding, training, retention, and assessment for participants and employers per program guidelines and requirements.
  • Develop service strategies, engagement plans, and other mid-cycle event strategies to offer ongoing training and support opportunities to the Youth program participants.
  • Review and adhere to the program budget parameters while implementing programming.
  • Complete documentation as required by Square One and the program funder, meeting deadlines as required.
  • Coordinate schedules and organize regular meetings with various program stakeholders.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with participants to ensure adherence to program policies and provide education and employment support, in addition to updating each participant’s record.
  • Hold weekly meetings with (1-2) Case Managers to get updates on their caseload.
  • Assist in the identification of Peer Leaders and support Case Managers with their managierial responsibilities.
  • Hold regular meetings with employment sites and other stakeholders as needed and determined by the Program team.
  • Attend meetings as mandated by Square One and program funder.
  • Oversee Case Managers, assisting with data collection and quality tasks needed to gather program reporting requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Oversee Case Manager activities, reporting to Program leadership regularly and proactively flagging any issues with program participants communicated by Case Managers.
  • Attend all staff and supervision meetings and trainings as required.
  • Assist with building internal capacity or partnering with local Community-Based Organizations or schools to structure and facilitate virtual, in-person, or hybrid service-learning projects.
  • Identify, develop, and monitor supportive placements that include mentoring, and are provided by experienced individuals in the field, and provide support for participants, per program guidelines.
  • Work with training partners and participants to ensure the necessary technology and internet access is available for participants.
  • Plan and support the implementation of the facilitation of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) groups which should include regular, live whole-group and small-group Zoom sessions and in-person projects.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to keyboard and do data entry at a computer. The employee is frequently required to drive, walk and climb stairs in the office and in a variety of community-based and home settings. The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to be added to Square One’s non-owned and hired vehicle policy, and access to reliable transportation.

The work environment includes indoor office environments or comparable spaces, families’ homes and community spaces, with frequent exposure to outdoor weather when traveling to home visits and meetings. The noise level varies by sites, home visits, and meetings.

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours)

Pay: $21 – $23 Per Hour
