• Turning Points

Parent education services for incarcerated and post incarcerated parents. Individual support services are provided for newly released mothers from Chicopee Women’s Correctional Facility. Family support groups for those who have temporary guardianship of the children whose parent is incarcerated.

  • Healthy Families Springfield

Home visits and group services for first time parents under 21. Our program is parent-driven; families choose their own goals and work in a close working relationship with a home visitor. Both young mothers and fathers are encouraged to participate in our program, either individually or together. Funded by the Children’s Trust Fund.

Mission Moments

  • Mom Squad is a vital program built to serve mothers who are homeless or at risk for homelessness.

  • The LAUNCH curriculum consists of fun, physical activities that includes topics such as conflict resolution, personal safety, hygiene, nutrition, stress reduction and more.

  • Children are inside the classroom having fun and playing games. Throw in some singing, too. What you hear is the sound of young children learning early literacy skills.

Learning and Earning

Square One Learn & Earn participant Alisha Wilson had the opportunity to complete her 1-day job shadow exercise in our very own commercial kitchen, as part of our comprehensive HiSET (formally GED) workforce development initiative. Alisha is one of many young parents participating in this program made possible by the Regional Employment Board, the Community Foundation, and most recently, Fallon Health. We are excited to welcome Fallon Health to celebrate our partnership on our King Street Center on March 9, 2017. Please join us at 9:00 a.m.

Horses, Hats, Hogs and Helmets!

From horse races to horsepower, Square One has special event for you!

Join our friends from the Gaudreau Group and Northeast IT for Square One’s 2nd Annual Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 6 at the Colony Club. Hundreds of Square One community supporters will don hats and seersucker suits and join us at the Colony Club for an evening of awareness, fundraising and fun.

Readers of Today Building Readers of Tomorrow

We know that children grow up to become better educated and more productive when they have high-quality early education, nurturing adults to care for them, and a safe and healthy community in which to live. We also know that developing an early appreciation for literacy can make a tremendous difference in every child’s long-term academic and creative success.

Enjoying the Most Important Meal of the Day

American International College (AIC) Men’s Ice Hockey teammates, as well as Coach Eric Lang, took a break from the ice to help serve breakfast to the children at Square One. The visit by the D-I Ice Hockey team followed AIC’s #GivingTuesday pledge to fund breakfast for four Square One classrooms each month for a year.  Thank you, AIC!

Let's Gogh Art

Our Square One school-age children enjoyed a wonderful day of creative expression at Let's Gogh Art. Through this program, the children are led by talented instructors who encourage their creative spirit and fosters their creativity while promoting the value of art.

The future is bright for these budding artists!

Holiday Happiness

The weeks leading up to Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and New Year’s Day were filled with excitement and joy thanks to the outpouring of donations from various toy drives, as well as private and corporate donations. Thank you to all of “Santa’s Helpers” who brightened the holidays for thousands of Square One children and families.

Special thanks to our wonderful friends in the business community for your tremendous support this season:
